WHO? Is Pennine Rescue. It is an organisation that was set up by Dave Tattersfield and Graham Miles back in 1986. They managed to scrape together £250.00 each and bought an ex RAF landrover Ambulance the rescue unit was already being used a rescue unit by Humber Rescue

All rescue units up and down the country are governed by the MOTORSPORTS ASSOCIATION and as such have to re licence both crew and unit have to re qualify every 3 years and must attend at least 2 recognised training session per year

We have 12 active crew who also give up there time freely they range from surgeons,welders,electrical fitters etc. We also have to hold a valid 1st Aid certificate.

WHY.? Do we do it . Well we all have a love for Motorsport and we give back what we get out of motorsport our involvement spans some 25 years

WHAT IS A RESCUE UNIT.? It is a cross between an Ambulance and a Fire Engine. Its primary object is to give fast medical and safety cover at motorsport events. We do like to have a laugh at events and often entertain the crowds but be assured when the shit hits the fan we all no our place and act on responsibly and professionally

WHY. When we already have An Ambulance Service and A Fire Service. Well imagine you are on a rally stage and you have a big off say in the middle of the North York Moors it would take up to an Hour or more to get both services to you and then they have to navigate the stage. This is the main reason we have up to 2 rescue units at the start of a stage.

Having said all this it is very rare we have to roll to bad incidents and we are more likely to deal with an RTC leaving an event.
